This deck pipe has a top cover to prevent water from entering your rope locker. Unlike other rope pipes, it doesn't have a top attached to a flimsy chain that can be easily lost overboard. This top is an integral part of the deck pipe so it can never be lost. To open you lift the top and slide it to the right to lock it into the open position. A fine piece of deck hardware.
