and is easy to set up at the local beach or off your lake home dock.
The boat is perfect for everyone from
beginner to expert and is very easy to rig. It has a three
piece tapered mast, a high performance boom, and complete sail
controls that are easily reached and adjusted from the sailing
position. Fast and fun, the Force 5 is eager to help you find
adventure on your lake or bay.

Your Racing Machine!
If you are looking for a racing one design that is up to date and a
little more advanced and sophisticated than the typical club racer, the
Force 5 is for you. Completely outfitted with the best gear on today’s
market as standard equipment, you won’t believe the value in the Force
5 as a racer. Raced actively all over the nation, the Force 5 has

History
of the Force 5
The Force 5 was designed in 1972 by Fred Scott
and Jack Evans of AMF Alcort fame. By 1974 it was their second best
selling boat and one of the fastest growing one design fleets in the nation.
It was designed to be a sleek, fast hull that was a step up from AMF’s
simpler boats. The Force 5 had sophisticated sail controls and a
high performance hull and rig. The dream of its designers came true.
Over 12,000 boats were built up until 1989 when AMF Alcort changed hands
several times in a short period of time.
In the autumn of 1993, a company located on Long
Island’s famed Great South Bay began building new Force 5’s again.
Weeks Yacht Yard, boatbuilders since 1898, became the new builders of Force
5 sailboats. Lucky for us they have preserved and continue to manufacture
a beautiful boat!

- Bunks
should be used to properly support a Force 5 on a trailer. Trailer Bunk Templates are available on line. Click Here.
- Use one 5-foot 2" x 12", or two 5-foot x 1-foot
pieces of 3/4" exterior plywood secured together (epoxied is
ideal) for each bunk board.
- Cut tracing with scissors,
place on bunk board and trace.
- Cut out using saber or band
saw out. Fair edges.
- "Cut-outs" marked on aft
bunk are for clearance for stop lights and better vision. If your
lights don’t need this, there is no need to cut out.
- Locate on trailer frame in
locations as shown above. Attach to trailer frame and pad with
carpeting as shown to
right.
